The SHE Power Half Marathon & 5K is an event designed to empower women of all ages and abilities (Sorry guys, no men allowed in this one).  Join us Sunday, January 24th in beautiful downtown Chandler, Arizona and celebrate your strength, your beauty, and your determination…one mile at a time!  We gather together to focus on how good it feels to be in motion, because it’s all about SHE Power!

Course Information

Please see course maps for information and location on the start location and water stops.

  • Each water stop will have water and gatorade
  • A limited number of portable toilet units will be at each water stop (more at the busier stops towards the beginning of the course)
  • If you have additional race nutritional requirements, please plan ahead to bring what you need.

Allyssa Jones (1:45)

I have been running since I was ten years old. The marathon is my favorite distance! I have completed 6 marathons (most recently Boston), 14 half marathons, and lots of 10ks and 5ks. I don’t know who I would be without running in my life. It is my passion and makes me feel strong!

Angelica Bermudez (1:55)

I’m a running realtor, momma of two, and my running journey started after my second child in 2013. Since then, I have completed 7 marathons (and qualified for Boston in 2018!) and numerous half marathons, 10Ks, and 5ks. I love running and being involved in my community encouraging women to find their love for fitness.

Carol Roarty (2:00)

I have been running for about 6 years.  I started running with my daughter when she joined Girls On The Run and had a 5k.  I have run several half marathons, the Phoenix Marathon twice and Boston.  I love running to spend time with friends and ME time. 

Julie Sherwood (2:10)

Julie is always on the go – as a mom of six children, a fitness instructor, and personal trainer she doesn’t have much time to slow down. In 2013 she signed up for her first race (the Disneyland 10K) and began a running journey she didn’t quite anticipate. In the past 6 years, in addition to multiple smaller races, relays, and a 50K ultra, she has completed 22 full marathons and recently qualified for the Boston Marathon. Running has become not only a way to stay fit, but also a way of life for her, and she enjoys sharing her love of running with others.

Ashley Gamba (2:20)

Ashley has been running since she was in middle school, but started competing in races in 2010 at the LA 5k. Since then, she has completed 13 marathons, over 25 half marathons, one 50k and many 5ks and 10ks. Her favorite distance is the marathon, and this year she fulfilled her dream of running the Boston Marathon.

Chrissie O’Brien (2:30)

I’ve been running my whole life. My first race was in kindergarten. I did track and cross country and ran short distance all the way thru college. I signed up for my first marathon in 2005 on accident and never looked back! I added ultras to my marathons about 5 years ago and between marathons and ultras have done more than 100. I have been pacing friends in marathons for years and finally about 3 years ago stumbled into my first official pacing gig. I love pacing people thru their 1st race because I never stop talking and can help to make them forget some of the pain and struggle. The gratitude (and sometimes tears) at the end make me feel better than anything could!

Monica Queen (2:40)

I’m a mom to 3 boys, twins and a singleton! I’m a Physical Therapist and Certified Personal Trainer. I LOVE helping people achieve their goals! I started running at a young age. I was on the varsity track and cross country teams in high school and competed at the Division 1 level in college. I took a break from running throughout grad school, but after a short hiatus, returned to the sport that I love!

Sunshine Caruso (2:50)

I moved to Arizona in 2016 with my husband and 3 kids.I began running consistently after moving here and finding Moms Run This Town as a way to meet people.I have loved all that MRTT has brought into my life.My children all love running and I love the example I am setting for them.

Lisa Freed (2:50)

I have run on and off for quite some time – done 2 sprint triathlons, 8 half marathons, countless 5 and 10ks, and finished my first full marathon last year. I run to burn off the craziness of having 2 teenagers in the house, lol, and I love the friendships I’ve made with my run groups. I especially love encouraging women of all paces to get out and find their tribe!

Molly Scheetz (3:00)

My name is Molly. I am the mother to 3 boys and a born again runner. I was never a “runner” as a child. I played sports but avoided running whenever possible. January 2013 I decided I wanted to be a runner. I committed to the Couch 2 5k program and before I knew it was running my first 5k without stopping. By the end of that year I ran the MARINE CORPS MARATHON! Miracles are possible…lol. I have had ups and downs with my training but again am training for my second full marathon. I absolutely love running because it gives me quality time with such amazing women (I’m 100% a social runner).

FAQ & Additional Guidelines

SHE Power Half Marathon & 5K specific rules & guidelines:


  • Strollers are NOT ALLOWED on Half Marathon Course but you can bring a stroller to the 5K event. The following guidelines apply:
    • Your child must be 3 or younger
    • Strollers may not be larger than 31″ wide
    • Stroller wagons are not allowed
    • No other wheels are allowed, so no wagons, scooters, etc.
